Entrants must name APT’s new trio of ships to be in with a chance of winning.

The winner and their guest will enjoy an Essential River Cruise on board the first of APT’s brand new ships and will follow the line’s European Gems itinerary between Amsterdam to Budapest. The cruise will set sail in 2020.

To be in with a chance of winning this incredible prize, entrants are expected to come up with a name for the trio of APT’s new European river ships. The new Contemporary River Ships were announced earlier this year, with the first to set sail on her maiden voyage in April 2020, followed by two sister ships the following year. The ships will be sailing on the cruise line’s Essential River Cruises operated by APT Travelmarvel.

Each ship will be called the “Travelmarvel…” and will have a common theme, so those who enter have been asked to come up with a series of three names they feel would suit the Contemporary Ships.

The modern ships have been designed with the guest in mind and are therefore kitted out with all the latest comforts and facilities, including a rooftop bar, heated whirlpool, and casual and formal dining options.

The new ships will be joining the Classic Class vessels, Travelmarvel Diamond and Jewel on Europe’s waterways in 2020, both of which underwent a soft refurbishment of the suites, Vista Lounge, restaurant and reception in 2018.

APT’s UK & Europe managing director, Paul Melinis, gave a small clue to help entrants: “We are looking for a trio of names that will link the ships together, while resonating with the essence of APT’s Essential River Cruises and although creative, Boaty McBoatface is not what we have in mind.”

He continues: “It’s a real honour and not an everyday opportunity to name a ship; we are delighted to share this experience with the public and look forward to seeing what entries come our way.”
