Virgin Voyages revealed the winners of its inaugural travel agent award ceremony during a Celebration Voyage hosted by Sir Richard Branson last week
The seven-night sailing, headlined by the Virgin Group founder and global pop icon Boy George, marked Virgin’s 50 year legacy and hosted the UK First Mate Awards.
The brand said the new award ceremony was introduced to recognise the “exceptional work and dedication” of both travel advisors and organisations who “embody the Virgin spirit”.
Iglu was named Best Cruise Specialist and Hays Travel took home the title of Best Retail Agency. InteleTravel, meanwhile, was awarded Best Homeworker Agency and Paramount Cruises and Stewart Travel were recognised with the Rising Star awards.
The First Mate Champion titles were handed to Kieran Miller and Lindsay Coulter and Barrhead Travel was awarded the Partnership Innovation gong.
Virgin Voyages has also rolled out a new range of mini wave offers and incentives for agents, including Sip and Save, where customers can save 70% off a second guest on all voyages through to 2026.
Those who book a new 2025 voyage will also receive a free Bar Tab of up to $300 in premium drinks. This includes new Mediterranean and European itineraries to Istanbul, Morocco, Dublin, and Scandinavia; Brilliant Lady’s debut voyages in North America and new Caribbean sailings this winter.
Virgin Voyages offers one million Virgin Points in new trade incentive
The new Make Me a MerMillionaire incentive, powered by Virgin Red, will award one agent with one million Virgin Points while a further nine winners will share an additional one million points.
To be in the draw for the prize, agents must log sales with the line’s agent reward platform, First Mate Loot. The more bookings an agent makes, the more entries.
The line has also launched Twenty Five for 2025, where agents can earn £25 per booking when customers choose 2025 European departing voyages.
