Virgin Voyages praises agent partners amid ‘record-breaking’ wave
Virgin Voyages has seen this year’s wave season deliver the strongest future bookings and revenue growth in the company’s history
The adults-only line recorded a 60 per cent revenue lift year-on-year and a 40 per cent jump in new bookings, with available inventory nearly sold out through the first quarter of the year.
The company also reported stronger than anticipated future bookings for its upcoming ship Brilliant Lady, which will launch in autumn 2025 with US itineraries from New York City, Miami, LA and Seattle to Alaska.
Nirmal Saverimuttu, CEO of Virgin Voyages, praised the line’s travel agent partners for “championing our growth” based on client feedback.
“Last year was a brilliant one and delivered massive growth from new customers, along with existing cruisers and those new to cruise,” he added.
“Our strongest start ever is a testament to our award-winning service and experience, our no nickel and diming value inclusions, the launch of additional destinations with longer itineraries from eight-14 nights and more than 30 new ports coming online from Alaska and Iceland to Turkey and Portugal.”
It comes as the line prepares to welcome Brilliant Lady when it debuts in September from New York City.
The vessel will offer a series of longer itineraries of up to 14 nights, with its inaugural North American season to feature itineraries such as New York City to Bermuda and Canada, Los Angeles to Mexico, Miami to the ABC Islands, and Seattle to Alaska.
As the line’s final addition to its current fleet of Lady Ships, Brilliant Lady will feature design aspects from its sister vessels such as red balcony hammocks, more than 20 eateries and a collection of wellness spaces ranging from a yoga perch to a mermaid-inspired spa.
