Uniworld promotes Angela Sloan amid executive reshuffle

Angela Sloan Uniworld

Uniworld has confirmed a number of promotions and a new appointment in its UK sales team as it looks to further support its trade partners on the back of a record year for sales.

Angela Sloan will become director of sales, Dawn Quinn and Lee Evanson become national sales managers and new recruit David Broad who joined the company on Monday (23 October) as a sales manager.

Broad joins from his role as cruise manager at Real Response Media, where he managed events at Cruise Trade News, and brings further experience from previous roles at JTA Travel, MSC Cruises and Tui.

The changes come as UK and Europe managing director Chris Townson relocates to Australia with his family, whilst retaining overall responsibility for the UK and European markets.

Townson will be back in Europe four times a year for major industry events such as CLIA conferences, WTM and Uniworld’s annual “kick off” meeting in February.

Uniworld reports ‘best ever’ sales year for UK market

Townson said this year has been the line’s “best ever” for sales from the UK market, with the brand currently 35% up on where it was during the same time in 2022, which was also a record year for Uniworld.

“This is due in part to having one of the longest serving and most consistent teams in the industry, both onboard our ships and within our UK sales and marketing team,” he continued.

“Ang, Dawn and Lee have been with us for 20 years between them, and have a wealth of passion, experience and strong relationships that have helped our business to thrive.

“I am delighted for them with their promotions and look forward to working with them from my new home in Australia. We have the right team to continue the momentum into 2024, and I will be working flexible hours to ensure that my team and our valued trade partners are serviced and supported even better as we move forward.”

Uniworld recently announced the acquisition of two new ships, the SS Victoria and the SS Elisabeth, with the former taking to the water in Spring 2024.
