Uniworld is offering savings of up to 20 per cent on many of its Danube river cruises in 2021 for agents who tune in to Channel 5’s Cruising with Jane McDonald this Bank holiday Saturday, which will be showcasing the itinerary.

Agents who quote the name of the show when booking will receive a 10 per cent saving for their clients, on top of a 10 per cent early booking discount that is already available on all 2021 bookings made before 30 June 2020.

The additional 10 per cent saving is available on Uniworld’s 8-day Enchanting Danube between Budapest and Passau, the 8-day Authentic Danube between Vienna and Nuremberg, and the 10-day Highlights of Eastern Europe between Budapest and Bucharest.

For example, couples could save anywhere between £450 and £1,540 on the Enchanting Danube itinerary, depending on the date and cabin type.

The Enchanting Danube usually starts from £2,449 per person sharing, but will cost £2,024 per person sharing if booked before 30 June, representing a saving of £450 per couple.

A saving of 10 per cent is also available on Uniworld’s India itineraries in celebration of its recent reappearance on Cruising with Jane McDonald last month.

Viewers of Saturday’s programme will watch Jane McDonald as she travels Uniworld’s SS Maria Theresa ship, sailing through cultural cities, pretty villages, hillside vineyards and dramatic scenery on the Enchanting Danube itinerary.

UK MD of Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection, Chris Townson, is optimistic of a boost in bookings for the luxury line’s 2021 Danube sailing on the back of the Channel 5 show.

“We are already seeing strong bookings for 2021 coming through, and are optimistic that confidence will return to the market soon.

“We recently saw a good number of 2021 bookings for our Ganges cruise on the back of Cruising with Jane McDonald in India, which was repeated on Channel 5 during this lockdown period, so we hope that Saturday’s programme will have similar results.

“Our trade partners have been really supportive, and have taken the opportunity to watch the programme themselves and to encourage their clients to do the same, as it’s such a fantastic way of familiarising with the product and fuelling that wanderlust for when we can all get travelling again.

“We’re very grateful to the trade, and we’re offering some great pricing on our Danube and India cruises to help them capitalise on interest from the programme and convert it into sales.”

Cruising with Jane McDonald: The Danube will be broadcast on Channel 5 on Saturday 9 May at 6.55pm.
