Viking has taken delivery of its newest longship, Viking Dagur, following a handover ceremony at Meyer’s Neptun Werft shipyard in Rostock-Warnemünde, Germany

The 190-guest vessel joins the company’s growing fleet of sister ships and will sail Viking’s itineraries on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.

With capacity for 190 guests across 95 staterooms, Dagur features Scandinavian design, Viking’s patented square bow that enables three full decks, an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace and a proprietary asymmetric corridor layout that allows for two-room suites.

The ship will sail itineraries such as Rhine Getaway, Paris to the Swiss Alps, Christmas on the Rhine and Christmas on the Rhine & Moselle.

Dagur is the latest addition to the line’s fleet, with the company’s order book including the delivery of 21 additional river ships by 2028, nine ocean ships by 2031 and two expedition ships by 2031. With these orders, Viking will have 114 river ships in 2028 and 26 ocean and expedition ships in 2031.
