Erin Johnson, Traevlopia

Silversea’s Erin Johnson appointed by Travelopia

Travelopia has appointed Erin Johnson, currently Silversea’s UK & Ireland marketing director, as marketing director of its tailor-made division.

Johnson will leave the luxury cruise line after three years and will start with Travelopia on 2 March 2020.

Her role will cover the Hayes & Jarvis, Sovereign, Citalia and Austravel brands with Johnson reporting to commercial and brand director Helen Adamson.

Johnson said: “I have really enjoyed my time with Silversea. Joining Travelopia, in the exciting sector of tailor-made travel, and at such a pivotal time for the business will be a new challenge for me and I look forward to driving the experiential brands of Hayes & Jarvis, Citalia, Sovereign and Austravel forward.”

Travelopia is owned by private equity firm KRR, following its disposal by Tui, when it was known as the Specialist Holidays group.

It has a portfolio of specialist independently operated travel brands between six sectors: expeditions, tailor-made, marine, education, events and US tour operators.

It is run by chief executive Andy Duncan, who joined from Camelot and formerly worked for Channel 4.

Commercial and brand director Helen Adamson added: “We’re delighted Erin is joining Travelopia’s tailor-made team. Erin is well-respected and well-known and has a proven track record in delivering successful marketing strategies that engage both the trade and consumer markets.

“As we strive forward in delivering experiential tailor-made experiences, Erin’s strong trade credentials will help drive the key brands of Hayes & Jarvis, Citalia, Sovereign and Austravel forward by creating impactful marketing campaigns that deliver engagement and results.”

Silversea UK & Ireland managing director Peter Shanks said: “We would like to thank Erin for her terrific contribution to Silversea over the last three years and we wish her well with her new role.

“We are actively recruiting for a new UK & Ireland marketing director.”
