Silversea Cruises extends ‘Cruise with Confidence’ programme until 2021

Silversea bonus commission for travel agents

Silversea Cruises has extended its ‘Cruise with Confidence’ programme to all voyages departing before 30 April 2021.

The cruise line, known for its ultra-luxury sailings and fleet of six-star ships, launched the programme in early March – allowing guests to cancel their cruise up to 48 hours before the sailing.

By extending the programme, Silversea hopes to give travellers looking to cruise peace of mind, giving them the confidence that they are able to cancel if needed.

Along with being able to cancel, for any reason, the guests also receive a 100 per cent future cruise credit for the full amount paid, which can be used for two years from the date of issue.

By extending the programme, Silversea hopes to see a spur in bookings for travel in early 2021.

When it comes to booking cruises, the line also revealed the most popular destinations for 2021, noting that passengers are wanting to sail closer to home.

For Americans, it’s returning to Alaska, while the Mediterranean and Northern Europe are proving popular for European and British guests.

For Australians, it’s sailing around Australia and New Zealand.

However, Silversea also predicts a rebound in more remote destinations like the Galapagos and Antarctica – known for their nature, wildlife and open spaces.

Silversea Cruises managing director for UK, Ireland, Middle East & Africa Peter Shanks, said:

“There are definite green shoots ahead as our regular cruisers yearn to get back to sea. Proving most popular are our ‘closer to home’ destinations in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.

“Silversea is also benefitting from its leadership in the more remote destinations with a focus on wildlife and nature, including Antarctica and the Galapagos, which are proving to be more appealing than ever.

“Extending ‘Cruise with Confidence’ continues to demonstrate our commitment to our travel advisor partners, as we continue to protect their commission in the event of cancellations.”

Along with the extension of the programme, the cruise line has also extended its popular Double Bonus, which features a reduced deposit requirement of £750 per suite for any new booking before 31 August 2020.
