Another Icon to come

Come January 2024, Royal Caribbean will welcome Icon of the Seas to the fleet.

The ship, which will become the world’s biggest cruise ship when it sets sail in January, and the first in the line’s new Icon class, has been described as the “travel industry’s first-of-its-kind combination of the best of every vacation”.

On board, it will have eight neighbourhoods, as they are known, five that are new to Icon of the Seas.

These will include Thrill Island, a lost island adventure that will feature Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, and Surfside, a neighbourhood made for young families.

The AquaDome is also new. During the day this will be a tranquil oasis, transforming at night to a vibrant place great for a night out.

Royal Caribbean Group president and CEO Jason Liberty said: “With each new ship, we raise the bar in the travel industry while enhancing what our guests know and love.

“From the moment they step on board, every experience is specifically designed to give them the best vacation anywhere on land and at sea.”
