Royal Caribbean reveals winners of second Royal Pitch event

Royal Caribbean International’s second round of its trade customer competition, Royal Pitch, came to a close this week.

Three of the five finalists received financial investment to help make their business idea a reality.

The competition sees consortia members across the UK and Ireland pitch their concepts to a panel of judges, including entrepreneur and Reggae Reggae Sauce creator, Levi Roots, and Ben Bouldin, Royal Caribbean International vice-president EMEA, to win a portion of £200,000 total investment.

The three recent winners, from Premier Travel, Cruise Circle and Travel Village Group, walked away with a total investment of £65,000 for their ideas, ranging from content creation and local sponsorships to radio marketing.

All five of the agents who made it to the final will also receive £6,000 worth of marketing spend.

Royal Caribbean praises ‘ingenious ideas’

Royal Caribbean International director of sales UK, Ireland and Spain Stuart Byron said: “Myself and the other judges were thoroughly impressed by the unique and creative thinking shown by the finalists in this round.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the concepts come to fruition and the impact on their business growth over the next 12 months. After this round, I’m even more excited for the next to hear more ingenious ideas from our agents.”

For the next round, travel agents have until 20 November to submit their proposals, with the judging taking place on 6 December.

To enter the competition, agents need to submit a video, via the Club Royal website, that details their business proposal and requested investment, in under five minutes.

More information on how to enter is available on the Club Royal website.
