Royal and Celebrity join forces for agent training event

Royal and Celebrity training

Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean have partnered to run a dual-branded training session for more than 40 agents at an event in Manchester

It’s the first time in several years that the two brands have teamed up to run an interactive trade workshop, which was designed for new-to-cruise and new-to-travel agents.

Sessions were led by Celebrity Cruises’ EMEA training manager Leon Hand and Royal Caribbean’s EMEA training manager Kristi Reeser.

Agents heard about Celebrity’s Edge series ships and news on Celebrity Xcel, which launches in November, as well as Royal Caribbean’s destination portfolio, the soon-to-launch Star of the Seas, and details on Legend of the Seas – the third ship in the brand’s Icon class, which will debut in Europe next summer.

“We’re delighted to work alongside our sister brand, Royal Caribbean, to deliver training specifically designed to support agents who are new to cruise, or new to the industry,” said Nicola McNeish, director of UK & Ireland sales at Celebrity Cruises.

“The exclusive training event gave attendees the opportunity to learn about everything from the outward facing design of our Edge series ships, designed to bring the outside in, to our Forbes Travel Guide recommended specialty restaurant, Fine Cut Steakhouse and why nothing comes close to Celebrity Cruises and the elevated experiences we offer guests.”

Aaron Langford, senior sales director UK & Ireland for Royal Caribbean, added: “We know how vital it is to empower agents with the tools and confidence they need to sell Royal Caribbean holidays, especially for those who are new to the sector.

“Our joint training session offered a fantastic opportunity to dive into both Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises in a really engaging, hands-on way.”
