ROL Cruise has promoted Sarah Wikevand to chief commercial officer; the first strategic appointment made by Rosie Cairns since becoming CEO
The promotion sees Wikevand take full responsibility for the development and execution of ROL Cruise’s commercial strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s overarching business objectives as it embarks on a new era of employee ownership and celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2025.
Cairns said: “Appointing Sarah as CCO was an easy decision and a strategic move for the business, as we continue to evolve under our new employee-owned structure.
“Sarah and I have worked closely together for many years, and her deep understanding of the business, combined with her commercial insight makes her perfectly placed to lead this area.
“Her new role will strengthen the alignment across our leadership team and support the delivery of our long-term business goals. I know the team will join me in welcoming this next step in Sarah’s journey with ROL.”
With nearly two decades of experience at ROL Cruise, the company praised Wikevand’s deep understanding of the business, proven track record of results, and clear vision for the future.
Her promotion follows the company’s shift to employee ownership, which has given staff a 51 per cent stake in the business.
Earlier this year the independent cruise retailer donated £20,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support. The donation was presented by Cairns and Wikevand to Alex Rowe, a regional fundraising representative from the charity, during a visit to the company’s headquarters in Lexden, Colchester.
