ROL Cruise donates £20,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support

Independent cruise retailer ROL Cruise has donated £20,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support

The donation was presented by ROL Cruise chief executive Rosie Cairns and managing director Sarah Wikevand to Alex Rowe, a regional fundraising representative from the charity, during a visit to the company’s headquarters in Lexden, Colchester.

Macmillan Cancer Support provides services for individuals and families affected by cancer, from offering practical advice and emotional support to funding specialist healthcare professionals.

The donation from ROL Cruise will assist Macmillan in continuing to deliver its work in Essex and across the UK.

Rowe said: “A huge thank you to the truly wonderful team at ROL Cruise for your amazing support of Macmillan Cancer Support over the last year. We cannot thank you enough for helping us to support people living with cancer.”

Cairns added: “At ROL Cruise, giving back to causes that matter most to our team and customers is at the heart of our values. Macmillan Cancer Support’s tireless dedication to helping individuals and families impacted by cancer deeply resonates with us.”

Last year ROL confirmed it will operate as an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), granting a majority stake of the company to its staff members.

The agency said the move “marks the beginning of a new era” for the business as it enters its 30th anniversary in 2025.

In tandem with the shift to the EOT model, ROL appointed Cairns, formerly joint managing director, as its new CEO to guide the company through the new phase.
