Riviera Travel expands long-haul options with new regional flights

Escorted tour and river cruise operator Riviera Travel has expanded its long-haul portfolio with new departures from Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh

The move comes as the company reports an increase in demand from customers in the North, Midlands, and Scotland, who can now reach destinations including Sri Lanka, South Africa, India, and Japan more easily.

The new routes follow existing regional departures to Morocco, supporting Riviera’s long-haul growth strategy and meeting rising demand beyond London.

Vicky Billing, director of trade and partnerships at Riviera Travel, said: “Our long-haul touring programme is currently up 20 per cent year-on-year, and it’s still accelerating.”

Billing states that this growth is why Riviera Travel brought Lloyd Morris on board as their long-haul champion. She added: “But we also recognised that to truly serve our customers across the UK, we needed to expand our regional presence.”

This expansion responds to strong customer demand and supports Riviera’s long-haul growth strategy. While long-haul tours have traditionally departed from London, the operator is now bringing its programme closer to travellers across the UK.

New regional departures are now available for several of Riviera’s top long-haul tours. These include tours in Sri Lanka, South Africa, Japan and India.

Regional flights are available on selected departure dates for 2026 and 2027 tours and flight supplements apply.
