Riviera adds new ship and itinerary for 2020

Danube, river cruise, cruise,

Riviera Travel is introducing a new river ship, as part of an expanded programme for 2020.

The 169-passenger MS Geoffrey Chaucer, which launches next year, brings the company’s fleet to 13 ships. It will feature a sun deck with splash pool and putting green, and a bistro with large panoramic windows and al fresco seating.

MS Geoffrey Chaucer will sail five cruise itineraries including the Danube, Budapest and the Black Sea.

In addition, a new Vienna, Bohemia and Treasures of The Danube itinerary is being added on the MS Thomas Hardy. Scheduled for July to September 2020, prices start from £1,599pp.

Riviera’s head of river cruising Katja Hildebrandt said: “2020 looks set to be another exciting year at Riviera, and as our river cruise programme goes from strength to strength, we are very proud to confirm the addition of the spectacular MS Geoffrey Chaucer, a sister to our increasingly popular 135-metre five-star fleet of luxury ships; just as elegant and stylish, with the same first-class service from her professional crew, she’s sure to become a firm favourite.

“Our aim is always to listen to our customers, and in response to their feedback and our continual research into new destinations, we are thrilled to be introducing Vienna, Bohemia & Treasures of the Danube – a brand new itinerary along one of the most famous waterways in the world.”

Riviera Travel will welcome more than 50,000 passengers on board in 2019.
