Regent bolsters trade team to help agents capitalise on ‘strong luxury demand’

Regent Seven Seas Cruises trade team

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has strengthened its resources for the travel trade by growing its UK business development team

Harriet Smith has been appointed to the role of business development support and will report to Caroline Moody, business development manager for the line.

Her appointment creates a three-prong business development team led by Ed Lang, director of strategic accounts and business development.

The expansion comes as Regent reports a strong demand for luxury cruising, with the team deployed to support agents in promoting the current fleet and the two newly announced ships that will join in 2026 and 2029.

“At Regent our main objective is to ensure that our partners are supported in growing their luxury cruise business, so we are excited to expand our business development team and bring Harriet into an already amazing sales team,” said Paul Beale, vice president of sales UK, Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

“Having earned her cruising stripes working in reservations for Norwegian Cruise Line, following a career working with luxury fashion brands, Harriet embodies the blend of cruise and luxury goods experience that aligns perfectly with Regent.”

Smith to help Regent ‘re-engage’ agents

Beale continued: “Harriet has been tasked with re-engaging agents that have historically worked with us, in addition to working closely with current proactive agents and helping to find luxury agents and operators with a dedicated clientele who trust their personal travel agents for advice and inspiration.

“She has a host of tools to support our valued partners, including the newly launched Regent University, training webinars, and destination videos that will inspire and educate, as well as our exclusive Facebook page where participating agents can find top tips and up to the minute campaign details.”

In addition to the business development team, Regent has also invested in new programmes and initiatives to promote understanding of its product; from educational tools and value-first incentives to Regent Elevate.
