Princess adds 2021 ex-UK sailings and suspends select Alaska & Canada cruises

Princess Cruises changes all-inclusive offering

Princess Cruises has announced three new itineraries for Regal Princess’ 2021 ex-UK season.

Regal Princess, which will homeport in Southampton, will now sail a 12-night Canary Islands cruise, departing 18 September 18 2021; a seven-night Spain & France itinerary, departing 30 September 2021; and a five-night Belgium & Netherlands Sampler voyage, departing 7 October 2021.

The move comes following the cancellation of the ship’s 24-night Canadian Adventure cruise, which had been due to depart Southampton on 18 September but will now not take place this year because of the Canadian Transport Ministry’s order that extends the closure of Canadian ports and waters to passenger ships.

An alternative Canadian Adventure cruise will sail roundtrip from Southampton in 2022 on Sky Princess.

In addition, Princess has cancelled select Alaska, Canada & New England and Pacific Coastal sailings due to depart in 2021, including the Alaska seven-day Voyage of the Glaciers cruises, sailing between Vancouver and Anchorage, and Pacific Coastal sailings that start or end in Vancouver.

Princess Cruises UK & Europe vice-president Tony Roberts said: “We added these new itineraries based on the strong demand from UK guests for our 2021 ex-UK season.

“While we share our guests’ disappointment over the cancelled Canadian Adventure voyage, we’re pleased to be able to offer our guests even more choice of sailings from Southampton for this year.”

Princess Cruises president Jan Swartz added: “We share in our guests’ disappointment over these cancelled voyages especially as we have been preparing our ships for our return to service.

“Princess Cruises has sailed to Alaska for more than 50 years and the incredible Last Frontier is part of our proud heritage. We understand how much of Alaska is dependent on the cruise economy. We are going to do all we can to help our business partners and the communities of Alaska.”

For those guests who are booked on a cancelled voyage and who have paid in full, Princess will automatically rebook them to the same cruise in 2022. However, guests can also opt for a future cruise credit (FCC) or a full refund.

Princess said it will transfer the commission earned by travel agents from the cancelled 2021 cruise to the new booking in 2022.
