P&O Cruises & Cunard announce senior management changes

Cunard and P&O Cruises

Carnival UK has promoted Paul Ludlow and Simon Palethorpe to the roles of president P&O Cruises and Cunard, respectively.

Each president will continue to report to Carnival UK president Josh Weinstein and will be responsible for overall brand leadership, the end-to-end guest experience and future strategies.

P&O Cruises vice president of marketing, Christopher Edgington, and Cunard vice president of UK sales and international development, David Rousham, will also be leaving the company.

The changes come into effect 1 December.

In addition, the sales and marketing functions of both brands have been consolidated, with Alex Delamere-White adding marketing communications, CRM and digital to his P&O Cruises trade relations responsibilities.

Cunard’s current vice president of marketing, Angus Struthers, takes on an additional new UK sales role working with the trade to grow Cunard’s UK business.

Delamere-White and Struthers will each take the title vice president sales and marketing, reporting to Ludlow and Palethorpe, respectively.

Weinstein said: “These moves enable us to sharpen our focus, strive towards our long-terms goals and progress our talent within the business. This leadership team will underpin P&O Cruises’ position as Britain’s number one holiday choice and Cunard’s undisputed role as the benchmark for luxury travel as we work alongside our trade partners every step of the way.”

Ludlow said: “Christopher has been instrumental in our brand marketing over a period which has seen record results for our business and created high visibility of cruising to a whole new audience. This sets us up very well for the next stage of our growth. I wish him every success in the next stage of his career.”

Simon Palethorpe said: “David has delivered strong growth for Cunard from our international regions and has forged new relationships around the globe. I wish him very well for the future.”
