The move comes as part of Oceania’s sales team restructure, following the departure of Priti Mehta.

Sanderson will report to new UK & Ireland sales director, Louise Craddock.

In addition, Alex Farquharson was recently promoted to senior manager key accounts, and James Scott to sales manager south.

Oceania added that its sales team will be fully operational in the new roles at the start of next year.

Louise Craddock said: “I am thrilled to welcome David to our newly restructured UK and Ireland sales team at such an exciting time for Oceania Cruises as we continue our return-to-service journey.

“David’s extensive experience and dynamic thinking will make him a great addition to the team at such a critical and exciting time for the global cruise industry.

“Having a newly restructured, fully operational sales team by the start of the new year will ensure we are in the best possible position to work effectively with our trade partners in this new cruising era”.

Speaking when Craddock was promoted, Oceania Cruises senior vice-president and MD EMEA Bernard Carter said: “This restructure puts Oceania Cruises in the best possible position to work effectively and efficiently with our trade partners.”

The luxury line is preparing for the arrival of the Allura-class ship, Vista, in 2023.

In an interview with Cruise Trade News, Carter said of the new ship: “It takes the core elements to Oceania Cruises to a new level, and I am confident no one will be disappointed. This is a new era for Oceania Cruises – anyone who sells this ship will find it to be a great experience.”
