Oceania Cruises’ 2023 world cruise sells out in one day

Oceania Cruises world cruise

Oceania Cruises has announced that its 2023 world cruise sold out within one day of opening for bookings to the general public on 27 January.

The response to the 180-day voyage “underscores the tremendous pent-up demand for immersive, destination-focused cruises”, said the line’s president & CEO Bob Binder.

The 2023 cruise will call at 96 ports in 33 countries across four continents, featuring three full days cruising in Antarctica and access to more than 60 UNESCO World Heritage sites.

More than one-third of all bookings came from new-to-Oceania guests, the line said, reinforcing a trend the brand has seen emerge in recent times, “with some booking periods and promotions recording new-to-brand booking levels of close to 50 per cent”.

In addition, 20 per cent of world cruise guests opted to extend their voyage up to a total of 218 days.

Binder added: “The response to our epic 2023 around the world voyage clearly illustrates the enthusiasm that experienced travellers have for immersive and memorable travel experiences.

“Despite the challenges the world faces today, travellers are clearly bullish on the future and are embracing these new opportunities to travel the world and create lifelong memories.

“The quick uptake from our loyal repeat guests and new first-time guests alike underscores the tremendous pent-up demand for immersive, destination-focused cruises and the strong allure of our acclaimed small-ship experience that features the finest cuisine at sea and an unmatched reputation for service from our warm and welcoming staff.

“Travel connects us through shared experiences, creates lifelong bonds, and enriches us in ways we never would have imagined. That was the mindset that guided us in crafting this epic around the world voyage for our guests.”

Oceania added that it will release its full 2022-23 winter collection of itineraries in March and will open 2023 Europe and North America voyages in September.

The line recently unveiled a new trade platform to help travel agents build their knowledge of the brand and its itineraries.
