MSC Cruises is spearheading a new campaign with travel agents to attract meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) business for the line’s winter 2022/23 and summer 2023 seasons.
The line, which will highlight the advantages of ships as a better venue option than hotels or resorts, said the move follows requests from agents, multinational companies and event agencies who have seen an upturn in demand for MICE business.
MSC Cruises’ commercial teams in the UK and Ireland will engage with agents throughout September to explain the attractions and benefits for MICE clients.
The line added that every ship in its fleet has its own theatre, conference rooms, dining rooms, bars and lounges, all of which can be branded and adapted to clients’ wishes.
In addition, venues, menus, gifts, daily programmes, signage and LED screens can be customised, and MSC can also design unique “shore excursions and personalise entertainment programmes”, a statement said.
MSC Cruises ‘playing its part’
MSC Cruises UK & Ireland managing director Antonio Paradiso said: “Our ships have great advantages over hotels and resorts as venues for MICE venues, no matter the size and scale of the business.
“There are many more options for food and beverage, an array of different entertainment attractions to enjoy and, of course, different destinations to explore and discover, plus all on one voyage.
“Following the MICE market’s very challenging past 24 months we are really looking forward to play our part and help our network of agents to offer some incredible opportunities for their clients.”
This month, MSC revealed that its new flagship MSC World Europa will be officially named in Doha, Qatar, this November.
MSC Seascape, another new addition to the fleet, will also feature “technologically advanced” on-board entertainment options when it launches in December.
