Hurtigruten has signed a deal with Widgety to make the latest information and content from the expedition brand available to UK travel agents.

Agents can now access information regarding the Hurtigruten fleet, new imagery and video content, brochures, the full range of itineraries plus excursions, and the latest pricing.

Widgety works with more than 500 travel agents across the UK, providing them with access to content from more than 40 ocean cruise and 20 river lines.

Hurtigruten head of UK sales Mark Walter said: “We are delighted to announce our collaboration with Widgety. Working with the platform provides new opportunities to support and engage with the trade and makes promoting Hurtigruten products as easy and as accessible as possible for agents.”

Widgety director Damian Gevertz added: Being able to include every element of Hurtigruten into our platform, both ship images and the huge number of cruise dates and pricing, is mutually beneficial to all parties.

“It allows Widgety to have a better range of content for agents, Hurtigruten to get easy distribution and access to its third-party agents, and for the travel agent [it is] an incredibly easy way to bring in and keep up to date [with] everything about the cruise line.”

Hurtigruten resumed sailings in Norway last week and has also launched a year-round programme of expedition voyages departing from Dover from mid-March 2021.

The voyages, aboard MS Maud, will carry fewer than 500 passengers. The ship will undergo a multi-million-pound refurbishment prior to arriving in Dover. It will feature new public areas and three new restaurants.

Highlights include the 15-day Norway’s winter fjords and the Northern Lights sailing, departing from Dover in March 2021 and October 2021 – March 2022.

Guests will visit Norway’s southern fjords and Arctic North, including Stavanger, Alesund, and the Lofoten Islands, as well as two days in Tromso, the North Cape and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bergen.
