Lambert, who left AMA Waterways last month, has joined Globus as key account manager, with the escorted tour company announcing a string of other new appointments as it looks to further support travel trade

The restructure comes as Globus, which incorporates Avalon Waterways, Globus Journeys and Cosmos Tours, seeks to highlight the significance of travel trade to its overall sales strategy.

Among the other moves are Kelly Calver, who has stepped into the role of key account manager for Avalon Waterways, where she will have a similar remit to Lambert in supporting specialist cruise agencies.

Meanwhile, Ryan Readman joins from Ambassador Cruise Lines as business development manager for the north, having formerly held roles with Scenic and Emerald, as well as having worked overseas for Contiki and Trafalgar Tours.

Karen Milward, business development manager for the south, and Sarah Makewell, who has moved internally to fulfil a new inside sales support role, complete the changes to Globus’ trade-focused team.

Lambert, who announced that she left AmaWaterways last month, began her career in travel with Kuoni as area sales manager and store manager in 2011, before joining the river cruise operator in November 2022.

“We have always been committed to the trade”

Phil Shipman, UK sales director for Globus, said: “This new trade team is all about giving agents exactly what they need across the different sectors of touring and cruising.

“We have always been totally committed to the trade, which makes up a huge proportion of our UK sales and we are now taking this commitment one step further with this new team.

“I am absolutely delighted to be working with this incredibly talented group of professionals who bring with them experience and expert knowledge from across the travel sector – all of which will enhance our trade support offering and take sales for Globus’ products to the next level.”

The restructure will see the account management for Globus’ touring and river business split down the middle, with Lambert and Calver focusing on their respective fields.

Lesley Taylor, UK MD for Globus, added: We are excited to announce our enhanced trade-facing team. This further aligns us as a brand to the significance of supporting travel agents and therefore increasing our ongoing sales.

“2024 is a very significant time for the Globus family of brands, with a new ship, new tours, sailings and customer service developments in the pipeline.
