About Salzburg
Music fans won’t want to miss this UNESCO-listed musical city which is famous as the birthplace of Mozart in 1756, home of the real Trapp family and used as a backdrop for The Sound of Music, the film about their life.
Mozart’s home is now a museum and visitors can hum their favourite tunes on guided walks around film locations including the Mirabell Gardens, where the von Trapp children skipped around the fountain. Excursions are offered from Passau and Linz.
