Cruise Stars 2024: entries open for agents and cruise lines
Agents and cruise lines have just over a week until the nomination deadline for this year’s free-to-enter Cruise Stars awards ceremony, which will be held at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Central London on 13 December
After returning for the first time in 2023 following a four-year hiatus, Cruise Stars is back again to celebrate the industry’s rising talent.
Those who wish to enter have until 5 August to nominate either themselves or a colleague, with categories including Cruise Line Sales Star, Mentoring Star and the coveted Star of the Year award, while roving travel agents will also be celebrated with two regional gongs.
Those who are shortlisted will be invited to a ceremony, held at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms, on 13 December.
Each award is free to enter online at cruisestars.uk, with categories open to travel agents who sell cruise holidays, as well as those working for lines and brands themselves.
“It’s an honour to once again be celebrating the industry’s amazing rising talent at this year’s Cruise Stars awards,” says Lina Slater, chief operating officer for Real Response Media.
“Our industry is one of the most exciting and dynamic sectors within the wider travel landscape and that’s in large part thanks to the individuals who champion cruise and drive holiday bookings year in, year out.”
“Since winning the Cruise Line PR & Marketing Star award, I am fortunate to have progressed to trade marketing and support manager at Scenic & Emerald Cruises, and now manage a team of three in our Manchester head office,” says Helena Gale-Hasleham, trade marketing and support manager for Scenic.
“I still love working in travel marketing and have been very lucky to work with a fantastic product, which has now grown to include four incredible ocean yachts.”
3 ways to nail your Cruise Stars awards entry
Stand out from the crowd
This goes without saying, but any entry that can jump off the page and demonstrate why you and/or your colleague deserves to be celebrated in an engaging, compelling way has a fast track to our judges’ attention.
Be specific (and measurable)
There’s nothing more important in a successful award entry than showing evidence of your achievements. Judges want to see how you achieved tangible and measurable results and they’d like the data to back it up.
Get internal feedback
Before you click ‘submit’, try and get your entry in front of as many relevant stakeholders as possible and get their feedback. They may be able to suggest key points you’ve overlooked or spot factual errors in your data that could trip you up on judging day.
