For the final Cruise Corner of the year, Lucy Abbott speaks to Celebrity Cruises training manager Leon Hand to discuss what the line is doing to support travel agents.

In early December, Celebrity Cruises unveiled its biggest-ever agent incentive.

Agents will have the opportunity to earn up to £1,500, via Celebrity Rewards, and the cruise line said it was prioritising rewarding agents with cash prizes over the next three months.

The 100 top performing agents between now and 1 March 2023 will earn £500 each.

Celebrating and supporting new starters in the industry, new agents will receive an additional bonus of £25 Celebrity Rewards for each of their first five bookings.

Celebrity Apex, the line’s second Edge-class ship, will also homeport in Southampton for its full 2024 season, further demonstrating the line’s commitment to the UK market and UK agents.

In light of this, we sat down with Leon Hand, the line’s training supremo, who explains how agent training is evolving and why he believes the Cruise Challenge is a must-attend event.
