The Scenic Group (including Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises) has become the latest cruise company to announce that it will be extending its suspension of operations.
The company has suspended operations for land tours, river and ocean cruises up to 30 June 2020, an additional two months from the original planned date.
The news comes following the Foreign and Commonwealth’s (FCO) announcement on the weekend that it had extended its advice against overseas travel for an indefinite period.
Scenic managing director for the UK, Colin Downing, said: “Our commitment to the health, well-being, and safety of our guests and our employees remains at the core of everything we do.
“Due to the ongoing global situation and government restrictions it is impossible for us to operate our scheduled departures up to 30 June 2020.
“Please be assured we are here to support our valued agent partners and guests during this challenging time. When this crisis is over and the travel industry begins to recover, we look forward to exploring our precious world with our guests again.”
