This week, CLIA’s #ChooseCruise campaign is highlighting the spa and wellness options available on a cruise.

Andy Harmer, CLIA UK & Ireland director, said: “From invigorating snow rooms to decadent suites and relaxing enclaves, cruise spas have turned personal pampering into an art form.

“While on their cruise holiday, guests can indulge in a lavish selection of massages, wraps, facials and scrubs.

“Full service salons promise a range of hair treatments and make-up consultations along with manicures and pedicures, made all the more relaxing with the inevitable backdrop of sea views – something that is a key component of al fresco treatments in a cabana on deck or the privacy of your own balcony.”

The #ChooseCruise campaign is running globally across CLIA cruise lines this month.

It aims to boost UK cruise sales and includes an online toolkit to help CLIA member agents capitalise on the promotion.

Harmer added: “When it comes to all-round health, wellness scores highly with enrichment seminars focusing on weight loss and lifestyle that cover nutritional counselling, detox and cleansing workshops plus skin and body clinics. This approach spreads beyond the spas on some ships, with dedicated healthy-eating restaurants, spa cafes and juice bars.

“Anyone wanting to immerse themselves totally in the wellness lifestyle can book spa cabins which come with a package of benefits and treats that generally includes pampering extras and complimentary access to the thermal suites.”
