Carnival Paradise undergoes ‘massive month long renovation’
Carnival Paradise is undergoing an extensive, multi-million-dollar refurbishment that will include innovations including a water park, 38 new cabins and 98 balconies to existing staterooms and plenty of eating and drinking options.
Following a month-long dry dock in Freeport, The Bahamas, the ship will resume its year-round schedule of four-to eight-day cruises from 26 March 2018.
The new features will include poolside venue, Guy’s Burger Joint, developed in partnership with Food Network personality Guy Fieri and will serve hand-crafted burgers and fresh-cut fries enjoyed amidst a décor that celebrates the chef’s California roots. The RedFrog Rum Bar will be a poolside watering hole offering Caribbean rum-based frozen drinks and beers, including Carnival’s own private label draught brew, ThirstyFrog Red. BlueIguana Cantina will be a complimentary poolside Mexican eatery serving burritos and tacos on homemade tortillas, meanwhile BlueIguana Tequila Bar will be an outdoor bar offering a laid-back Mexican-themed atmosphere.
For children, Camp Ocean will offer a colourful marine-inspired play area designed for kids aged 2 to 11 that showcases the ‘wonders of the sea’ through engaging interiors and more than 200 ocean-themed activities, while its new stateroom enhancements include 38 new cabins: two Grand Vista suites offering floor-to-ceiling windows, 22 junior suites, two scenic ocean view cabins and 12 interior accommodations. Additionally, private verandas have been added to 98 existing staterooms, creating new 230-square-foot balcony staterooms. All staterooms will offer new island-inspired interiors in bright bright colours and soothing pastels.
Its new WaterWorks Aqua Park will be located on Verandah Deck. The all-ages water park will feature an enclosed 300-foot-long ‘Twister’ water slide full of twists and turns and two 82-foot-long racing slides and a splash zone for kids. The ship will also relocate its nine-hole miniature golf course to Deck 14. New brand boutiques including Pandora and Guess, the Cherry on Top sweet shop are also being added, while a printed photo gallery is being replaced with a digital pixels-branded platform, enabling guests to identify and purchase images via their smartphones or at a nearby kiosk.
Carnival Paradise’s Tampa-based schedule includes four-day cruises to Cozumel and five-day cruises to Cozumel or Mahogany Bay (Roatan), Grand Cayman or Key West. The ship also sails to Cuba with four-day cruises visiting Havana, five-day cruises calling at Havana and Cozumel or Key West and eight-day voyages to Havana, Key West and Grand Cayman.
