Carnival Cruise Line has revealed it will make more than 40 port calls in the Bahamas during September.
The announcement comes after the Carnival Corporation and the Micky and Madeleine Arison Family Foundation pledged $2 million in aid to support relief efforts following Hurricane Dorian.
Carnival ships will visit Nassau, Half Moon Cay and Princess Cays for the remainder of the month.
“Thank you to all who have joined us to support our friends in the Bahamas with donations,” said Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy.
“Our work to assist and support continues. As our ships and our guests return to Bahamian ports of call, our visits will make sure that our guests experience the beauty of the Bahamas and that the economy moves forward and jobs will be supported.”
Carnival has also asked employees and guests to join the effort through online giving tools and has started a donation programme at its US homeports as guests board cruise ships. Â Organisations supported by these efforts include Direct Relief and World Central Kitchen.
