Carnival Corporation has confirmed plans to close Carnival Cruise Line’s UK office in MayÂ
The conglomerate said the move comes after “careful consideration” of its strategic objectives and it is having “individual conversations” with members of the team.
The closure, which is expected to take effect from 12 May, will see the company “sunset” the Seavacations team in the UK.
A Carnival Corporation spokesperson said: “After careful consideration of our strategic objectives for the UK market, we have made the difficult decision to propose the closure of the Seavacations team in the UK and sunset this part of the organisation.
“We are currently having individual conversations with the Carnival Cruise Line team in the UK to discuss potential future opportunities within the wider business. Our priority is to provide the necessary support to minimise the impact for those affected.”
It comes after the line unveiled the names of its fourth and fifth Excel class ships amid the confirmation of its five-year strategic growth plan.
The first new addition to the Excel class will be named Carnival Festivale, which is set to launch in spring 2027 from Port Canaveral.
The ship will introduce new onboard areas, such as music-themed venues and an outdoor family zone on the top three decks, named Sunsation Point, which will replace the Bolt rollercoaster. Additionally, it will have 1,000 interconnecting cabins, nearly 70% more than on the first three Excel class ships.
