From overwater swings and snorkelling to beachside cabanas and kayaking through mangroves, there’s plenty to keep your customers busy on a Caribbean adventure with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL)
As the first cruise line to offer weekly departures from the destination 59 years ago, NCL revolutionised the industry, making this stunning region more accessible to travellers worldwide.
From pioneering the concept of exclusive private islands with Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas to developing new ports across the Caribbean, NCL’s legacy and expertise have solidified its position as a leader in Caribbean cruising.
Pair this destination expertise with the line’s Experience More at sea mantra – offering guests more time in port, longer itineraries, more bars and exceptional value – and guests will be hard pressed to visit the Caribbean with anyone else.
But the cruise line isn’t resting on its laurels. Last month, NCL revealed a raft of enhancements to Great Stirrup Cay, including the launch of the nearly six-acre Great Tides Waterpark.
The thrill seekers’ paradise will open next summer and feature 19 waterslides, a nearly 800-foot dynamic river, a 9,000-square-foot splash zone for kids and the industry’s first cliffside jumps.
At 170-feet, the Tidal Tower will be home to eight waterslides, including the two tallest slides of the tower where guests can experience drops and climbs on an inner tube. Additional features include racing slides, tube slides and body slides. Select slides will include conveyer belts to lift the rafts to the top of the tower.
For fans of a slower pace, NCL will also introduce the new Great Life Lagoon, an oceanfront pool with swim-up bars, cabanas, lounge chairs and a dedicated kids’ area.
As well as the private island, the cruise line offers an eclectic range of sailings to some of the Caribbean’s best loved ports of call.
On a seven-day round-trip cruise from Orlando (Port Canaveral) aboard Norwegian Prima®, guests will visit Montego Bay, George Town and Cozumel, as well as Great Stirrup Cay.
In Montego Bay, vibrant cities, local culture and mesmerising waterfalls await. Guests can browse local shops or visit Sam Sharpe square to learn about the area’s history, before heading to the beach to try their hand at rafting or kayaking. Departures are available from November 2025 through to April 2026, with prices starting from £705pp** for an Inside stateroom.
Norwegian Aqua™, meanwhile, will sail roundtrip Caribbean itineraries from October 2025-April 2026 from Miami, calling at Great Stirrup Cay, Oranjestad, Willemstad, St Thomas, Basseterre, San Juan and Puerto Plata. Prices start at £719** for an Inside stateroom.
In St Thomas, guests can enjoy the thrill of sailing through the turquoise Caribbean Sea on the Castaway Girl, a catamaran that will take them to Shipwreck Cove for snorkeling. Besides an array of tropical fish, explorers may spot the wreck of a ship that lies in just 25 feet of water. After, the bar will open for a well-earned drink while Caribbean music pulsates throughout the night.
From April-October 2026, the Prima Plus class Norwegian Luna™ will offer seven-day roundtrip sailings from Miami to Puerto Plata, St Thomas, Tortola and Great Stirrup Cay, with prices starting from £705pp** for an Inside stateroom.
Travellers will have the chance to discover Tortola, found by Christopher Columbus in 1493. The exotic, peaceful island is home to both towering mahogany trees and white sand beaches and offers a challenging hike that extends 1,780 feet up Sage Mountain.
Back onboard, guests can feel the rush of the Aqua Slidecoaster during the day before indulging in a cocktail or two as they prepare for a moonlit stroll along Ocean Boulevard. They’ll also find a range of restaurants, including NCL icon Cageny’s Steakhouse and new additions Sukhothai and Planterie.
