An increase in demand for cruise holidays has helped homeworking giant InteleTravel post a record January

In the UK, cruise bookings were up 67 per cent last month compared with the same period last year. Overall, bookings were up 44 per cent and revenues up 35 per cent. Gross sales on 29 January topped £2 million, the first time the figure has been achieved in a day.

InteleTravel Ireland, meanwhile, achieved a 524 per cent increase in cruise sales in January, compared with the same period last month. The firm achieved its best-ever month in the country in January, with overall revenues up 90 per cent and bookings up 126 per cent, with cruise the standout sector.

The figures come on the back of a continuous campaign over the past two months of increased activity, including a customer-facing magazine, three weekly webinars on best partner deals, top tips for conversion, and full-day live and virtual events.

InteleTravel UK and Ireland managing director Tricia Handley-Hughes said: “Our performance supports the statistics we are seeing that holidays remain a top priority. Our cruise sales were slow in starting the year but then progressed strongly during January, with the mainline cruise lines performing strongly.”

In the first eight months of 2025, InteleTravel reported a 60 per cent increase in cruise turnover compared to the same period in 2024. The firm recorded gross cruise sales of £17.5 million from January to August, up from £11 million in the same period in 2024.

There was also a 66 per cent spike in the number of agents booking cruise, with average booking values up 5 per cent.
