With a commitment to creating immersive experiences for guests, Azamara Club Cruises will sail to South Africa (Cape Town), from January 2020.
According to the cruise line, South Africa has been on president and CEO Larry Pimentel’s radar for some time; he believes that the destination will appeal greatly to their customer base. The cruise line has teamed up with specialist luxury safari operator Micato Safaris, which Pimentel feels has a strong synergy with the Azamara brand. There will also be new land and sea packages on offer.
Azamara’s 2020 itineraries emphasise spending more time in port. With a total of 92 cruises across the three ships, Azamara will offer 41 maiden ports, 40 country-intensive voyages, 303 late night stays and 170 overnight stays.
Other 2020 highlights include an 18-night maiden voyage to French Polynesia and Hawaii, with three stops in Hawaii – another destination close to Pimentel’s heart as it was once his home town.
For the first time, Azamara’s three ships will meet in October 2020 in Koper, Slovenia, where the cruise line will host a grand AzAmazing Evening in port for all guests on all three ships, and then sail together to Venice.
In February 2020, the Azamara Quest will be embarking on the brand’s second World Journey from Cape Town to Southampton.
Meanwhile, all three Azamara ships will be in Europe for the summer season, and there will be five UK sailings from Southampton on Azamara Pursuit following its launch in August.
