Avalon Waterways has expanded its 2021 Europe river cruise offering with new itineraries featuring Eastern Europe destinations, including Croatia, Serbia and Romania.
The cruise line’s new 2021 Danube itineraries include a nine-day ‘Balkan Odyssey’ sailing from Bucharest to Zagreb; a nine-day ‘Danube from Croatia to the Black Sea’ cruise (from Zagreb to Budapest); and a 16-day ‘The Danube from Germany to the Black Sea’ cruise (from Deggendorf to Bucharest).
The itineraries will spotlight new Danube river ports, including Ilok, Croatia; Golubac, Serbia; Constanta, Romania; Ybbs, Austria; and Hainburg, Austria.
CEO of Avalon Waterways, Giles Hawke, said: “On our all-new Balkan Odyssey cruise, travellers will embark on an adventure along the Danube and Drava rivers for an unforgettable journey through time and tradition.
“This itinerary is perfectly book-ended with two nights in both Bucharest and Zagreb and represents our Danube expansion, giving travellers more ports and more possibilities for their river cruise exploration.”
All cruise itineraries sail on Avalon Waterways’ signature suite ships, which provide guest two full decks of 200-square-foot, Panorama Suites featuring the industry’s only open-air balconies and beds facing the incredible views for which river cruising is famous.
Avalon Waterways, along with sister companies Globus and Cosmos, has suspended cruise travel until the end of June following the global coronavirus pandemic.
This suspension goes across all destinations and travellers affected by it will be able to reschedule their holiday in 2020, 2021 or 2022, to any destination, on any brand, without incurring cancellation fees. Avalon river cruise customers will also be offered a credit of up to £150 per person when they reschedule.
