Avalon Waterways will look to bolster its ties with UK agents with the launch of its first fam trip programme since 2020

Starting in October, the new scheme will see agents hosted by a member of the line’s UK sales team on three- or four-night sailings on the Danube.

Phil Shipman, UK sales director for Avalon Waterways, said: “It’s great to restart the agent fam trip programme and we can’t wait to host agents onboard. We know how stand out our product is and we are looking forward to agents being able to experience it for themselves.”

He continued: “Agents are integral to everything we do at Avalon Waterways and the reintroduction of fam trips is a natural step for us as we continue to build our new and existing relationships.”

The tours will give agents the chance to view the Avalon Panorama Suites, which are thirty percent larger than the industry standard and are thought to offer river cruising’s only open-air balcony.

Avalon Waterways’ river cruises include full-board dining, complimentary regional wine or beer at mealtimes, as well as soft drinks, a “happy hour” every day, which includes complimentary drinks, plus included excursions and gratuities.

On-board dining options include the main dining rooms which offer four course sit-down meals with flexible mealtimes; a more informal dining room for snacks and light bites, plus the Sky Grill located at top of the ship.

Avalon to expand Europe presence with Garonne and Dordogne sailings

Earlier this year, the line announced plans to sail the Garonne and Dordogne for the first time in 2025.

The line will offer new one-, two- and three-week sailings through Bordeaux with cruises on the Garonne and Dordogne, bolstered by combinations including the Seine, Saone, Rhone and Rhine.
