Sister brands Avalon Waterways and Cosmos have announced a “significant” expansion of the sales team.

The current team of three will be joined by an additional five members.

Two of these roles – a business manager and inside sales role – are office-based, while three are on-the-road positions. 

The expansion will give Cosmos and Avalon a team of six on-the-road staff, split across three geographical areas, north, central and south, with one business development manager and one regional sales manager in each.

It is expected that all new roles will be filled by December.

Janet Parton, sales director, said: “The growth of the Cosmos and Avalon sales team heralds a really exciting time for us as a company.

“My existing sales team have been working hard to educate the trade about our escorted touring and river cruise products, but by expanding our scale, we will be able to increase our support of the trade and dedicate even more time to meeting with a wider range of travel agents around the UK to help grow their knowledge of Cosmos, Avalon and premium brand, Globus, which offers first rate escorted tours.”

The new sales recruits will also work to educate travel agents about Avalon’s move to an all-suite fleet from 2019.
