APT has continued its expansion of its trade support team with the creation of a business development manager (BDM) role dedicated to homeworkers.
The role, which is the first of its kind for the operator, has been filled by Becky Baumbach, who has served as APT’s BDM for more than four years.
Baumbach, who will start the new job on 1 December, will focus on sales, relationships and partnership opportunities with homeworking agents.
She will also lead “an extensive training programme”, APT said, and create customer and engagement events to help enhance sales conversions for agents.
She will report to APT & Travelmarvel head of sales and business development Brad Bennetts.
APT ‘recognising’ the value of homeworkers
Bennetts said: “As we all seek more flexibility in our working lives, homeworking has exploded post-pandemic.
“We recognise that homeworking agents are an integral part of our industry, and of our business, and we want to ensure that they are equipped with all the necessary support to thrive and capitalise on the outstanding opportunity that the APT & Travelmarvel products offer.
“Offering superb new ships, some of the most exciting cruising and touring products in the market, and fantastic, value-add offers, we are making sure that homeworkers have access to the best resources for their sales success. Becky is the perfect person to drive this forward.”
In late October, APT appointed Robin Griffiths as BDM for the Midlands.
It is now also recruiting for a new BDM for the southwestern region of the UK, which was previously covered by Baumbach.
