Anthony Daniels joins Ponant as UK and Ireland general manager

Anthony Daniels, Ponant

Cruise industry veteran Anthony Daniels has joined luxury expedition line Ponant as its new UK and Ireland general manager

Daniels, who stepped down from his position as vice president of sales and marketing for Hurtigruten earlier this year, has more than 30 years’ experience in the cruise industry with roles across various brands such as Norwegian Cruise Line, Cunard, Seabourn and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Joining Ponant in May, Daniels will be responsible for the UK and Ireland team, aiming to expand market presence, elevate brand visibility and forge stronger relationships with the travel trade.

“I’m incredibly proud to be joining Ponant during this exciting period of growth and look forward to working with our superb teams and partners to grow the UK & Irish market,” he said.

“The company’s vision and growth strategy offers our UK industry experts and their guests amazing opportunities. We will share more details of our plans in due course.”

Daniels appointment comes after Ponant reveals ship visit programme

Last month Ponant announced the dates for its 2024 UK-wide ship visit programme for its trade partners, with registration now open.

With more than 450 places for agents to experience the line’s vessels, the programme, which will take place between April and September 2024 across UK ports, will include time on board Le Lyrial, Le Boréal, Le Champlain and Le Dumont d’Urville.

They will take place across twelve regional ports in the UK and Ireland, including Dartmouth, Cobh, Dublin, Douglas, Aberdeen, Rosyth, Belfast, Glasgow, London, Dover, Cowes and Portsmouth.
