AmaWaterways will add four new ships to its fleet in 2028 to offer additional sailings in Europe and Africa

On the Rhine, AmaMaria will debut as a sister ship to AmaFiora, which is slated to enter service in April 2027.

New ship AmaGaia will sail on the Douro alongside another new and as yet unnamed vessel.

Meanwhile, a fourth new ship will sail on the Chobe River alongside the Zambezi Queen.

For 2028, AmaWaterways is also expanding its collection of pre- and post-cruise land experiences, featuring a three-night Krakow stay, a two-night Nuremberg package and a three-night Brussels extension.

The line will also introduce a 10- and 11-night Elegance of Burgundy and Provence itinerary aboard AmaCello in July and August 2028 which will sail along the Rhone and Saone rivers.

AmaWaterways chief executive Catherine Powell said: "We're always looking ahead and thinking about how we can continue to evolve the AmaWaterways experience and bring our guests closer to the destinations they visit.

"Our 2028 journeys reflect that vision, with new ways to explore, discover and connect, both on board and on shore. We're excited about what's to come and the opportunities it creates for our guests to experience the world with us in new and meaningful ways.

"River cruising is the perfect way to bring our guests into the heart of a destination. We want to give travellers time in the places they visit, and the freedom to wander a little further, discover a neighbourhood or simply get a feel for what it's like to be there."
