AmaWaterways’ latest e-brochure details the line’s 11-night cruise and land adventure along the Nile.
The Secrets of Egypt & The Nile itinerary, which starts sailing from 11 September 2021, will take place on the 68-guest AmaDahlia, the 25th ship in the AmaWaterways fleet.
AmaWaterways has pencilled in 17 departures for the 2021 season and 38 for 2022.
Guests will sail round-trip from Luxor, spending three nights pre-cruise and one-night post-cruise at the five-star Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at The First Residence.
Highlights of the itinerary include a visit to the Egyptian Museum, home to a collection of pharaonic art including mummies and the treasures of Tutankhamun, and a trip to the Valley of the Kings and Queens, which features the mummified remains of more than 30 queens and princesses.
Guests will also get the chance to to visit a Nubian village with lunch and a sunset sail in Aswan on a traditional felucca, a wooden sailboat commonly used in Egypt.
AmaDahlia will feature two restaurants, 18 staterooms and 16 suites, four of which will be panorama suites at the front of the ship.
The release of the e-brochure follows the announcement in May that AmaWaterways has opened bookings for its 2022 voyages. All itineraries in France, Portugal, Holland and those travelling the Rhine and Moselle rivers are open for reservations.
AmaWaterways executive vice-president and co-founder Kristin Karst said: “River cruising is an excellent way to experience a destination, especially Egypt, where one of the oldest civilisations in the world began along the banks of the Nile.
“I distinctly remember my first trip to Egypt – learning so much about its fascinating history, relishing in the magical sunsets and being mesmerised by the spectacular colours on display in the local markets. I cannot wait to return and for our guests to meet the welcoming Egyptian people who so proudly share their stories.”
