Amadeus River Cruises has released details of its newest ship, Amadeus Amara, which will join the fleet on the Danube in July 2025
Thanks to a lightweight construction and shallow draft in this category of ships, the vessel, the line said, will remain “reliably operational” in seasonally fluctuating water levels.
Additionally, reduced water resistance will help minimise fuel consumption and its hull shape, a fuel-saving autopilot and solar panels on the sun deck make the ship Amadeus’ “most environmentally friendly” vessel.
“Amadeus Amara is not only a technical masterpiece but also a true gem for our guests,” says Martina Lüftner, founder and managing director of Amadeus River Cruises.
“The elegant interior design and indoor pool at the stern will be among the new comfort highlights. Twelve spacious suites feature walk-out balconies and cosy reading nooks, while the 70 standard cabins mostly offer drop-down panoramic windows and luxurious bathrooms.”
Amara’s maiden voyage is scheduled for early July 2025. To celebrate the forthcoming launch, Amadeus River Cruises has packaged some of the earliest departures with flights, along with a Danube Christmas Markets’ cruise.
