A-ROSA returns to Portugal in first successful departure of 2021

A-ROSA river cruise line marked an exciting step forward in it return to cruising this week as it resumed offering Portugal holidays on the Douro.

A-ROSA welcomed guests on the A-ROSA ALVA yesterday in Porto.

Then this morning the river cruise ship departed on a seven-day cruise through the Douro Valley.

The vessel will travel to the Spanish border and back again.

It’s not just Portugal cruises that are returning this month.

A-ROSA’s Danube sailings will resume on June 19 onboard A-ROSA Donna.

The cruise will call at three European capital cities – Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava.

Later in June, cruises on the Rhine will start up again.

By the middle of the summer, A-ROSA plans to have three-quarters of its fleet operating along the Rhine, Main, Moselle, Danube, Douro and Rhone rivers.

“We are delighted that we have been able to set sail again and that our 2021 season is now finally underway,” Jörg Eichler, CEO of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH said.

“The feedback from our guests yesterday was so encouraging. Our comprehensive hygiene measures and highly trained crew made sure each of our guests could enjoy their cruise from the very moment they stepped on board.”

A-ROSA is carefully adhering to Covid protocols.

The cruise has furthered fine tune its sophisticated health and hygiene protocols during its hiatus from sailings.

However, these year does see an exciting development – A-ROSA’s popular gourmet buffets are returning.

What’s more, as in 2020, the SPA-ROSA with its sauna, treatments room and gym, the pool/whirlpool and a range of excursions will be available, all in compliance with strict hygiene measures.

Itineraries plan to go ahead as per normal, however due to official regulations or changing local conditions, adjustments may be necessary.
