Season four of Cruise Trade News’ sister travel show, World of Cruising TV, is now live with a roster of new cruise lines and special guests
The show, which aired on Freeview, Sky and Virgin channels on 1 February, has added three new partners – Celestyal Cruises, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines and Crystal – to its collection of cruise line guests and welcomes back returning favourites Virgin Voyages, Riviera Travel and Princess Cruises.
Also new this season is CLIA UK and Ireland managing director Andy Harmer OBE, who joins the show’s host Dean Wilson outside the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma to discuss the benefits of holidays-at-sea.
Speaking to Wilson, Harmer said: “You see ships now of all shapes and sizes with all different inclusions and types of activity and entertainment, all targeting those certain types of holidaymaker. But also, you have choice of destinations as well. So, pick your itinerary carefully because it’s those destination experiences that people really remember.”
And for the first time, World of Cruising TV brought cruising to life with a visit onboard Sun Princess, to give viewers a closer look at what they could expect on a Princess Cruises sailing.
Overall, the show worked with 13 pioneering cruises lines, filmed and produced 28, 30-minute episodes, delivered more than 96,000 minutes of footage and achieved upwards of 150,000 views on YouTube.
Each episode sees hosts Dean Wilson chat to a cruise line representative about the brand and highlighted itineraries. Next, Michelin star chef Marc Fosh prepares dishes inspired by the line’s menus in the studio kitchen before the guests join him for a tasting.
The show, which is designed to help guests open their minds to cruise lines, ships and itineraries they may not have considered before, capped the successful launch of its second season by being nominated for Video Content of the Year – New at the 2025 PPA Awards.
Simon Calder, travel editor at The Independent, joins the show once again for the Ask the Expert segment, which sees him answer viewers’ burning questions about cruising.
“There were plenty of highlights, but I particularly enjoyed getting the chance to hear from the top figures from each of the cruise lines about what is different about their offering, and witnessing the passion that they bring to the industry,” he said. “Frankly I am drooling at the memory of tasting some of the best food in the Med, all cooked up in the studio by a Michelin-starred chef.”
