Windstar Cruises: See the wonders of the Red Sea

Windstar Cruises is known for sailing to luxurious ports, and the choice just got bigger with the launch of its 2023/24 brochure.

Starting in November 2023, Windstar Cruises will embark on cruises to the Red Sea and Persian Gulf for the first time in its history.

The small-ship line is promising one-of-a-kind itineraries, enabling guests to immerse themselves in local cultures, with a range of sailings in the Middle East on the 312-guest Star Legend.

For example, the 18-day Wonders of Arabia will sail from Athens to Dubai, transiting the Suez Canal and spending five days in Egypt and Jordan, including an overnight in Luxor to take in the majestic Karnak and Luxor temples, followed by two days in Oman.

Guests might also want to enjoy overnights in Doha and Abu Dhabi, on the 10-day Sparkling Sands & Cities of the Persian Gulf voyage.

Sailing on 11 dates from Dubai to Muscat, Oman (and in reverse), this will also feature stops in cities such as Fujairah or Khasab, as well as time on Sir Bani Yas, an island known for its wildlife conservation.

See ancient ruins with Windstar Cruises

Highlights of the nine-day Arabian Nights & Egyptian Days cruise include an overnight in Sharm el-Sheikh and in Safaga, with the opportunity to visit Luxor and see the turquoise waters of the resort ports of Ain Sokhna and Hurghada.

The ruins of ancient Al Balid and Zafar will be on offer during an eight-day Realm of the Queen of Sheba voyage, sailing from Muscat to Jeddah.

This cruise will combine days at sea watching deserts and mountains pass and dolphins playing in the gorgeous Omani fjords.

Elsewhere, the 12-day Red Sea Revelries via the Suez Canal, will sail from Jeddah to Athens, featuring an overnight in Luxor, a later night in Ain Sokhna, Egypt, as well as a transit through the famous Suez Canal and a day in Heraklion, Crete.

On all these voyages, guests can indulge in some of the finer things in life, not least an extensive range of spa therapies all geared to improving wellness and wellbeing.

Guests can jump into the ocean from the on-board watersports platform, or enjoy complimentary access to the thermal lounges, sauna, fitness equipment, classes and more.

Wellness treatments are tailored to each itinerary, with locally sourced ingredients, and authentic rituals and therapies from cultures around the globe.

Windstar Cruises president Christopher Prelog said: “With impressive UNESCO sights, beautiful beaches and wildlife, top-rated golf courses, amazing snorkelling and diving and, of course, great shopping, Windstar is excited to introduce our guests to the Red Sea and Persian Gulf.”
