VIVA Cruises has created a dedicated UK and Ireland sales team with the appointment of two business development managers
Jospeh Grimley will join on 11 May as BDM for the north, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Grimley has previously held senior sales positions at Fred. Holidays, Scenic and Riviera Travel.
From 15 June, David Chidley will take up the role of BDM for the south. He will join from Hurtigruten and has also held roles at Go Cruise, Fred. Rivier Cruises and Uniworld Boutique River Cruises.
Both newly created positions will report into country manager for the UK and Ireland Michelle Daniels, and “will play a key role in encouraging more UK and Irish travellers to experience VIVA Cruises’ river cruise offering”, the line said.
Andrea Kruse, chief executive and co-founder of VIVA Cruises, said: “Strengthening our presence within the UK and Ireland travel trade is central to our growth strategy.
“Joseph and David are both highly regarded within the industry and bring a wealth of experience, insight and established relationships.
“Their appointments demonstrate our long-term commitment to supporting our trade partners and investing in a knowledgeable dedicated sales team that can work closely with agents across all key regions.”
Daniels added: “I’m delighted to welcome both Joseph and David to the team.
“Their extensive knowledge and passion for the industry will play a key role as we continue to build the VIVA Cruises brand across the UK and Ireland, while strengthening relationships with both new and valued trade partners.
“Alongside Stephen Sands, who continues to support the business in Ireland, they form a highly experienced and dedicated UK and Ireland sales team focused on driving sustainable growth.”
