Picture this: you’re sailing down the Amazon River surrounded by pink river dolphins; then you are sipping a caipirinha on Copacabana Beach; and next you’re cruising through icy Antarctic waters flanked by Emperor penguins.

That will be your reality if you join Fred Olsen. Cruise Lines’ new 2028 Grand Voyage on Borealis, a sailing unlike any other.

Calling at 17 countries in five continents during the 87-night sailing, passengers will begin their journey in Southampton, eliminating any stresses of airport queues, delayed flights or lost luggage.

From there, the sunny Canary Islands await before a transatlantic crossing to Central America, with calls at six Caribbean islands as well as Costa Rica and Colombia, promising white-sand beaches, cobble-lined streets and bustling market towns.

Fred Olsen. Cruise Lines will then sail to Brazil marking its first return to the Amazon in nine years, offering guests time ashore to immerse themselves in lush rainforests teeming with exotic wildlife, such as toucans, monkeys and sloths.

The itinerary then heads south to Argentina before crossing the Drake Passage, the gateway to Antarctica. Step out onto the deck and gaze in awe at towering icebergs and breathtaking glaciers as you sail past pods of orcas and humpback whales, the salty sea spray splashing you as the mammoth creatures breach the icy waters.

Return to South America for a final few days in colourful Buenos Aires and tropical Salvador and then reposition east with a stop in Cape Verde, the only African country on the itinerary. Make a final visit to Spain and arrive back in Southampton having had the adventure of a lifetime.

The sailing goes on sale at 8.30am on 22 July and prices start at £10,999 per person, including dining, selected drinks with lunch and dinner, entertainment, fitness classes, gratuities and taxes.
