Virgin Voyages launches champagne app

Virgin Voyages has announced it will run an exclusive on-demand champagne delivery service, Shake for Champagne, aboard its first ship, Scarlet Lady.

The app will allow guests to request champagne anywhere onboard Scarlet Lady, whether it be their suite, the swimming pool or on deck.

 

All passengers will have to do to receive their ice-cold bottle of champers is download the Virgin Voyages Sailor App and, when the app is open and ready to go, give their phone a shake.

A 750ml bottle of Möet Chandon Imperial with two glasses, served in an eye-catching Virgin red ice bucket, will then delivered to the passenger, anywhere on the ship.

“It is never too early for champagne and there is always something to toast to while aboard Scarlet Lady,” said president and CEO of Virgin Voyages, Tom McAlpin.

“We want our Sailors to enjoy a glamorous holiday and what better way to feel like a RockStar than a sip of bubbly whenever and wherever you want it.”

Alternatively, guests can also enjoy champagne at the newly revealed champagne and caviar lounge, Sip. Featuring an array of vintages from different champagne houses, the bar caters to a range of price points, with a glass of bubbly starting from $9 and going up to $1,000 for a bottle for guests looking to splash out on their cruise.

Along with champagne, afternoon tea will also be served in Sip, which will feature an elegant and stylish marble bar with a rose-gold inlay, designed to reflect the glamour and effervescence of champagne.

Passengers who book April or May sailings will receive a complimentary limited-edition bottle of Möet Chandon Imperial in their cabin upon arrival. In addition, those who book now will receive half off their deposit.
