Virgin Voyages: Back in the UK

Virgin Voyages Resilient Lady sailing

Next year and through to 2025, Virgin Voyages will offer 63 itineraries globally, including a selection from Portsmouth.

Since its launch, Virgin Voyages has refused to rest on its laurels. And now, it is upping its game when it comes to itineraries.

The award-wining cruise line has expanded its list of voyages, with 19 new ports and 27 new itineraries, sailing through to April 2025.

From a UK perspective, the big news is that Virgin Voyages will once again offer departures from Portsmouth. Cruises from the south coast port, on Resilient Lady, will start in mid-August 2024 and run through to September.

The three to six-night sailings include the English Sights and European Delights itinerary, which docks in Le Verdon (Bordeaux), La Coruna and Bilbao.

Resilient Lady’s European schedule also includes two repositioning voyages from Portsmouth to Barcelona, adding Morocco to the brand’s list of new destinations.

Resilient Lady will then finish its Mediterranean season with a Barcelona to Athens voyage, merging the best of the line’s signature Irresistible Med and Greek Island Glow itineraries.

Virgin Voyages offering ‘incredible experiences’

Elsewhere, from January through to March 2024, Valiant Lady will operate out of San Juan, Puerto Rico, offering two southern Caribbean voyages originally scheduled for Brilliant Lady, including the Southeastern Caribbean Isles and Sunsets in the Lesser Antilles.

With Scarlet Lady heading into dry dock next year, Valiant Lady will trade places, starting in April 2024. Departing from Miami, it will operate four and five-night Caribbean rotations.

As for Scarlet Lady, between May and October 2024, the ship will soak up the Mediterranean sun on two seven-night itineraries – Irresistible Med and French Daze and Ibiza Nights.

In November, Scarlet Lady will embark on an 11-night repositioning voyage from Barcelona to Civitavecchia, stopping in Mallorca, Corsica and Sardinia.

Virgin Voyages vice-president of UK and international sales Shane Riley said: “In the last year alone, our repeat sailor rates have tripled. What’s even better is these loyal travellers want more – so we’ve listened.

“We’re thrilled to announce more than two dozen new itineraries featuring incredible experiences that will let these discerning holidaymakers enjoy destinations that may be familiar, in a completely different way – the Virgin way.”

Virgin Voyages ‘MerMillionaire’

To support First Mates (travel agent partners), Virgin Voyages has its ‘Make Me A MerMillionaire’ incentive.

This campaign, in partnership with Virgin Red, will see one First Mate win one million Virgin Points and become the line’s very first ‘MerMillionaire’.

To enter, agents simply need make a 2024 European Virgin Voyages booking and log the sale. The more bookings made, the more chances to win. The incentive runs until 31 October.

In addition, a new campaign, again valid until 31 October, features up to 25 per cent off the line’s 2024 sailings.
