Star Clippers to target high-street agents with new appointment

Star Clippers Emma Daines

Star Clippers has appointed Emma Daines as sales executive as part of a new strategy to grow its presence with high-street travel agencies

Daines, who will report in Nicola Cox, head of UK trade sales, will be tasked with growing the tall-ship line’s business with high-street agents across the south of the UK, providing regular visits, training and events to educate partners on the specialist sailing company.

Daines brings with her more than 30 years of experience in the travel sector, having previously worked as an agent at Premier Travel, and most recently within the Star Clippers Reservations Department.

Fay McCormack, general manager of Star Clippers’ UK GSA, said: “Emma’s unwavering enthusiasm for Star Clippers, paired with her vast product experience, makes her perfect for this role.

“She was the ideal candidate and I am very much looking forward to seeing what Emma achieves this year.”

Daines added: “I was ready for a new challenge and I am so excited to take my vast knowledge of this wonderful product out on the road.

“Having previously been a travel agent myself, I know how best to support our loyal agent partners and how to help them drive new business.”

This appointment is the latest change to Star Clippers’ trade team, which recently underwent a restructure that saw Cox promoted from key account manager to head of trade sales.
